One of the largest and most prominent philanthropies in New York is the United Jewish Appeal Federation of Jewish Philanthropies, known to many simply as UJA Federation. They raise hundreds of millions of dollars to support a wide variety of social causes, and many consider them to be the most influential voice of the Jewish community in America.
