For nearly 50 years, the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities has been to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and wellbeing of children and their families. And like most nonprofits, the past 18 months have been a tumultuous time for them and the families they serve. And here to tell us about that and all that they do is Kelly Dolan, the president and chief executive officer of Ronald McDonald House.
And for this evening’s Better Than Most, we’re going to head on over to the Empire State Building in New York and to the offices of Human Rights Watch. We’ll start the segment with Ken Roth, their Executive Director, and then hear from other members of the Human Rights Watch team.
In this segment, Roxane White describes the mission of the Nurse-Family Partnership, which is to help transform the lives of vulnerable first-time moms and their babies. Roxane outlines how the organization creates a culture of success through mutual motivation. Through ongoing home visits from registered nurses, low-income, first-time moms receive the care and support they need to have a healthy pregnancy, provide responsible and competent care for their children, and become more economically self-sufficient.
